    The San Antonio Water System is the public utility provider for water and wastewater services to millions of customers in the San Antonio area.
  • objective
    The objective of this project is collaborate with their information technology department to create a user-friendly interface for their new customer portal and app that allows user to check their water usage, outages, and payments.
  • approach
    By working with the existing framework, designing and user-friendly interface that are accessible and aligned with the SAWS brand was imperative. In addition, additional features that could improve the user experience were explored.
Since the main functions of the app will depend on existing web-based services, on-boarding and app-specific screens were the primary focus on improving the design.
Another part to improving user-interfaces across web-based products for the San Antonio Water System was the "My Use" dashboard of their customer portal. With new electronic meters able to display real-time water usage, they wanted to provide customers with a new dashboard experience as well.
Exploring the brand colors led to a dark and light mode interfaces to further cater to user preferences. The dashboard also introduced new interactive data visualization for customers to engage and educate themselves about their water usage.
